EMPOWERING ADOLESCENTS, YOUTH AND TEEN MOTHERS
IN TAKING INFORMED DECISIONS, FOSTERING THEIR BRIGHT FUTURE

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS

Adolescent pregnancy remains a significant public health and socio-economic concern in Rwanda. In 2023 alone, over 19,000 teenage girls gave birth. Teen mothers face stigma, school dropout, and limited job prospects. Mental health challenges among youth aged 14–24 are rising sharply: 21% experience depression, 17% suffer from anxiety. These challenges, worsened by limited access to guidance and services, lead to risky behaviors and uninformed life decisions.

INGABIRE Divine

I was 17, alone, and terrified when I got pregnant. Destiny Helpers welcomed me with love, gave me a counselor, and enrolled me in vocational training. Now I’m studying tailoring, and my baby has a future I never thought possible.
